Phlebotomy
The
Phlebotomist is an integral member of the medical laboratory team whose primary function is the collection of blood samples from patients by venipuncture or micro-techniques. The phlebotomist facilitates the collection and transportation of laboratory specimens and is often the patients only contact with the medical laboratory. At the completion of this course, the student will know the skills to enable him or her to functions as a certified phlebotomist nationwide in any healthcare organization. The student will be able to obtain his or her National Credentialing Certificate from the National Phlebotomy Association.  Training consists of: proper venous sites, various vials, colors, and types of veins and techniques for hematocrit (blood draw) withdrawal.

High School Diploma or GED is required

Credits: 160 hours/ 8 Weeks
 
Day Session: 9:00AM-1:00PM (Monday to Wednesday )
Evening Session: 5:30PM-9:30PM (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
