The Mount Eagle Massage Therapy Program prepares students to
become successful practicing bodyworkers in as little as six

certification, and by most state and municipal governments for
licensing. The Massage Therapy Program teaches the art and
science of massage therapy, while also teaching sound business
practices which prepare students for success in the marketplace.
Modalities.
The Mount Eagle School of Massage Therapy (MESMT) not only
prepares students to become proficient bodyworkers but also
trains students to become successful in the marketplace, either
as a sole practitioner, an independent contractor, or an
employee.
Program Description
Massage Therapy is a profession in which the
practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive
therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health
and well-being of the client. Therapeutic massage involves the
manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to
prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and
stress; and to promote health and wellness. Massage therapy
improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular,
skeletal, and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which
the body recovers from injury and illness.

The Massage Therapy Program provides learning experiences that
enable the student to acquire and assimilate the necessary
technical competencies to function effectively as a supportive
health care provider in the Massage Therapy profession. This
program is highly demanding, and students are therefore more
successful if they do not work while in the program. If students
must work for financial support, the program strongly recommends
a limit of 20 hours of employment per week. Students should also
consider family responsibilities before committing to a
full-time academic program. To facilitate the clinical portion
of the program, students are assigned to the on-site facility at
the Mount Eagle Institute Campus.
